RULES
Overview & Racing Classes
TPTCC is an offline simulated racing league that uses NR1999 and the TPTCC '99 patch to simulate a touring car championship. Drivers set up their races according to the posted race settings and then submit results to be compared against the rest of the league. Certain software and utility requirements are outlined below. Due to the restriction of tracks we are running for the summer season, new drivers cannot join us after 28 May 2000. Usually, new drivers can join at any time during the season and may compete in any number of races during the schedule, but that is not the case for Summer 2000. People who wish to join the league need to submit their name, car and car number to the league administrators.
There is only one class for TPTCC summer 2000, 2 liter supertouring. Each supertouring event consists of a single race. The race distance is very similar to the main races from the 1999 season along with a required pitstop. There is no qualifying, as all cars start at the rear of the grid.

Allowed Cars
In the supertouring class, refer to the Homologation page at Redshoes Racing for a guideline as to which cars are accepted in supertouring.
Setting Up and Racing
For all races, your NR1999 Lap Display should be set to Time. In the options menu under controls the Lap Display selection is at the bottom right corner.
Open setups are allowed, however, you may not change the 'Aero Package' from what has been initially submitted to the carset. Supertouring rules do not allow aero changes within a racing season, only before and after. The 'Aero Package' is the overall handling of the car due to aerodynamic forces over the splitter and rear wing, it's changed by clicking on the 'Aero Package' logo. When you're ready to run your race set up NR1999 according to the race settings and run each race in one sitting. No restarts or race saves are allowed. The only case where a restart is allowed is due to computer/software failure. If your computer locks up or a bug shows up in the game, such as all the AI cars stopping on the track, you may restart. Once you feel you've practiced enough, tell yourself this is it and begin your race. Running your race over and over again to acheive a better time or avoid a DNF is strictly against the rules.
During your race conduct yourself on the track as if you were driving a real race car. Intentionally crashing out the AI cars is not allowed. In addition, two tires must remain on the track at all times. Mistakes will happen and you will go off the track occasionally, but no shortcuts for the purpose of getting a better lap time.
Pit stops are required for the summer series, it is mandantory to make a pitstop for 4 tires during each race. Each race will have a pit window in the drivers meeting. Insure that you pit only within the pit window, not before or after.
Saving ResultsFor example, if I was Joe Smith and saving results for race 5 on the schedule my file would be called JS05.
Next enter the replay screen to record your average lap time and save the last lap of the replay for results verification. With your car displayed let the replay run until the end. On the left hand side of the screen you will see your average lap time. Write this number down to include with your results. Then save the last lap of the replay. Only include the last lap of your race and give the file and appropriate name so you will be able to find it easily.
If you have a DNF in your race use the accelarated time feature to finish the race and save and submit the standings as usual. Replay saves are not neccessary for DNF results. It's not a great result but you still need points!
You'll fine the standings file in your N99 main directory with an .stn file extension. The replay will be found in the specific track directory with a .rpt (for supertouring) or .rpl (for V8 supercars) extension.
Submitting Results
Results are due by midnight Pacific time (United States) according to the due dates on the schedule. Late results are not accepted. Submit your results via email to the proper address for each class (see below). Attach the .stn file to the email and within the body include your name and the average lap time from the replay screen. Do NOT edit the .stn results file in any way. Editing this file will result in invalid results. The subject line should read TPTCC - YY00 where YY00 is the same as the .stn file name.. Submit results for each race to: supertouring@tptcc.com
A few days after each race deadline the unofficial results are posted. At this time there may be a request for the last lap replay files from specific drivers. If we request a replay from you, zip up the file and submit it to your divisions results address. Failure to submit a replay can result in a penalty or disqualification.
Scoring
All races, in both classes, are scored by the following criteria:
Laps Completed
Race Position
Average Lap Time
Those that do not provide an average lap time as outlined above will be scored behind those that do.
Championship
At the end of the schedule the driver who accumlates the most points in each class will be crowned driver champion of that class. Within each class, points are awarded for drivers in the following distribution:
1st 50, 2nd 46, 3rd 44 and the remaining in two point increments...
Manufacturers are figured by 3 points for the first place car, 2 points for 2nd, 1 point for each place thereafter up to 5th place. No cars score manufacturers points after 5th place. Points are cumulative to the manufacturer, if two cars of a manufacturer score in the top 5, both cars score points.
Rule Changes
TPTCC makes every effort possible to avoid changing the rules during the course of a season. If it can't possibly be avoided TPTCC reserves the right to make a rules change. Drivers will be notified before the change takes place and it is quite common that they are asked for their input. For questions concerning rules and the league, contact Jan Kohl. Timing & Scoring will be done by Michael Heymanns and JD Ellis.
